Despite the long delay in the production process, GTV Taiwan has announced that filming for “Extravagant Challenge” will resume on March 31st, and Super Junior members Siwon and Donghae will be arriving in Taiwan soon.
After going through many changes and setbacks, GTV’s idol drama “Extravagant Challenge” is finally set to begin filming in April. Earlier this year, there were issues regarding the casting of the female roles, but now it is finalized. The production set confirmed that Ivy Chen will play the main female lead, while popular Korean idol group Super Junior members Siwon and Donghae will be the two male leads.
The drama is an adaptation of the popular Japanese manga, “Skip Beat”. The story is about a young girl (played by Ivy Chen) who dreams of making it big in showbiz. She sets a goal to become like superstar Ren Tsuruga (Siwon), and to take revenge on her ex-boyfriend/singer (Donghae). As the main lead, Ivy will be portraying a village girl who then transforms into a superstar. She expressed her confidence by stating, “I am ready!” On the other hand, Siwon and Donghae are currently working hard on practicing their Chinese pronunciation.
It has been confirmed that Siwon and Donghae will fly to Taiwan next week to join their co-stars Ivy Chen and Bianca Bai for the production process. They are reported to be staying in Taiwan for at least four months to film the drama.
